It has been documented the grand transition from Analog to Digital Broadcasting. Why is it so important that everyone has their TV for entertainment or is there a more deeper reason for this? If you look as to who is doing what you may figure out why. I have only skimmed the surface of a much deeper pool.
Given Reason for this:
An important benefit of the switch to all-digital broadcasting is that it
will free up parts of the valuable broadcast spectrum for public safety
communications (such as police, fire departments, and rescue squads). From: www.dtv.gov
Yet there was a delay.
Sen. John Rockefeller, chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science and
Transportation( as well as a listed member of the Trilateral Commission
and the Council on Foreign Relations). Is quoted as saying "I firmly
believe that our nation is not yet ready to make this transition at
this time," http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/01/27/digital.tv.transition.delay/ -
This article is Senate OKs delay of digital TV transition. Which I read as Not being ready I wonder why?
So they Drew up an ACT (Rember folks is has been said : that a law repugnant to the constitution is void; and that courts, as well as other departments, are bound by that instrument. MARBURY v. MADISON, 5 U.S. 137 FEBRUARY, 1803
In this DTV Delay Act there is:
EXTENSION OF COMMISSION AUCTION AUTHORITY- Extended Section 309(j)(11) of the
Communications Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C. 309(j)(11)) is amended by
striking `2011.' and inserting `2012.' www.whitehouse.gov/briefing_room/dtv_delay_act/

And R makes some excllent points in his letter Titled: Digital TV "mandatory by law"? Why? Who benefits?
What you'll hear mostly is "lack of bandwidth" due to the constant additional channels that are being created all the time. That may be true, but "lack of bandwidth" can also serve another purpose.
...The original analogue waves have a large area in which they "broadcast" so
we can "tune in easily" to their transmissions, much like a radio dial
when done by hand... ... more and more local stations arrived, each
demanding a stronger signal to reach more people at the same time,
soon, as any Canadian can tell you, watching TV from "state-side"
became as much "local TV" as our own channels were. This is NOT
through cable TV either, but directly from the airwaves themselves.
...Those signals traveled a long way to get here and obviously were
very strong transmissions to cross the border so easily and clearly.
... Channels need spaces between the channels so that they don't
"distort" each other's transmissions. ...More channels, that's PART of
the equation... now it starts to get "interesting" ...
Way back, someone, somewhere in the military, had noticed how VHF/UHF frequencies
"perturbed" human brainwaves and so they did some research on the
subject. .... Obviously now there was a battle for "space" on these
frequencies, and the distances between military bases and local cities
were getting smaller every day. What were the advantages of beaming
signals at human beings in these frequencies that also shared the same
space as local TV broadcasts? One thing I do know for sure, is that
anyone who used to help TUNE those TV broadcast antennas on top of
local TV stations all died of cancer by the age of 45 years of age. No
one in that field ever saw 60, and often 50 was a "miracle". You can
offer employees lovely pensions for 60 or 65 in that occupation and
they'd never be able to "cash in". What a deal! ...seems that VHF/UHF
has a profound impact on DNA at the cellular level, so the data you
might dredge up about "mind control" is only half the "picture". (Pun
intended).
So how does one resolve the need for space on these frequencies for
"USE"? Simple... You are the military... what would
you do? It doesn't take long before a new "law" is put into place
changing the entire system to assure there's enough room for everybody
on that spectrum. Suddenly there's all those classic analogue
frequencies available that only some "old koot" with a classic model TV
would even be able to "pick up on" and even so, what's to look at -
"coloured snow" vs "black and white snow"? Pretty lines on the screen
vs no lines at all? Who would bother to attempt to interpret such
static? Why, only some paranoid freak, of course... and that's where
they have you. Even questioning your doctor about health issues
relating to the change-over to digital TV could land you a trip to the
corporate drug house (asylum). And yet, CBC has broadcast a news
report about the DANGERS of those "green energy efficient bulbs" filled
with mercury, giving off DANGEROUS frequencies which harm the human
body worse than cell phones do... they're THAT BAD! So it's a fine
line between total individual awareness and "mass public awareness" a
any given moment. As to HOW dangerous these VHF/UHF frequencies are
and what's in store for all the new space the military and their
"associate corporations" have... that'll take some research to study
and verify. I'm right there with you regarding the health effects and
"legal use" of these frequencies. How well do YOU trust those antennas
and the staff which handle them, not to mention those who give the
orders to change the entire TV system by government issued law? Imagine
if you could get arrested for playing old vinyl on the radio
instead of CDs... wouldn't anyone want to know WHY? I sure would.
(Again a perfect example of SIZE and storage between formats - vinyl vs
the compact digital disk - the size of the "groove" and detail of
rebroadcast, etc)
With all this extra space for military use, whether they shall "piggy-back" frequencies on top of one another
somehow or simply use the spaces between for non-digital pulsations for
whatever purpose which only they know... they certainly have made their
voice LOUDLY heard through this new "law" for all broadcast towers to
"convert to digital transmissions" shortly and rather suddenly... and
considering this period in history regarding "green light bulbs" filled
with poisonous mercury beaming radio frequencies at people who use
them, and "cellular telephones" doing the same, HAARP and military
satellites everywhere around us... every single one of these towers
with all their frequencies traveling right through our very bodies
every day and night of our lives... it's truly any wonder we are still
able to half function at all and attempt to lead a semi-"normal" life
what so ever.
And that's the bottom line... this is just another exploitation
opportunity by the military against human beings who are highly
susceptible to radio/TV(etc) frequency energy in EITHER "format". www.fourwinds10.com/siterun_data/media/television/news.php?q=1234833341
Yet there still is the health effects of Digital Broadcasting!
From the end of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century,
the general public's exposure to radiofrequency EMFs, has exceeded
everybody's expectations. More new applications of RF technology are
being marketed every day.
Dr Andrew Goldsworthy has written a very interesting paper on the role of calcium and how non-ionising radiation may affect cellular function.
There are an increasing number of studies showing that the general public are
experiencing a whole range of biological and neurological symptoms when
exposed to long-term low level RF radiation that are not experienced by
people who are not so exposed
Some findings associated with different types of RF technology
Mobile phones and health effects:
increased risk of developing a brain tumour, memory and sleep problems
, and a recent study has found behavioural changes in children who had
been exposed prenatally to RF.
Dark neurons, The teams believe that the brain barrier leakage allowed
toxins, such as albumin, to damage the cells. The weakest fields were
found to be biologically more harmful. The weakest fields could be
experienced by people standing
close to a mobile phone user, or even people living near mobile phone
transmitter masts.
It is unclear how many people will be affected by RF radiation from
phones, but it seems, certainly with respect to brain tumours, that the
longer one is used, the more likely it is that the user will experience
problems.
Digital Cordless (DECT) phones
~ These give off levels of RF radiation that are as high as mobile
phones, sometimes higher, as mobile phones 'power down' in a strong
signal area.
Phone Masts{Towers}~
It is difficult to do epidemiological studies on populations exposed to
mobile phone masts, as it is unlikely that this is the only exposure to
RF radiation that they will have. However, the studies that have been
made, some initiated by GP practices concerned about the symptoms
reported by their patients, have shown a consistent pattern of
ill-health effects reported by people living near masts, when compared
with those living further away.
WiFi ~ Children are
now being exposed to RF radiation from WiFi at home and at school and
it is possible that this may result in their developing cognitive
problems such as concentration and memory problems and behavioural
changes.
Radio and TV ~ With
the advent of digital broadcasting there are anecdotal reports of an
increasing number of people who are sensitive to these types of
transmissions.
TETRA ~ The TETRA
system emits electromagnetic pulses at 17 Hz, a frequency which
research has found may affect brain activity. It transmits at 400 MHz,
which is most current shielding materials are not particularly
effective at shielding against
Microwave ovens ~ All microwave ovens leak RF radiation.

There
are negative health consequences that have occured in Germany. In
Germany, analog broadcast television stations have gradually been
switching to digital broadcast signals since 2003. This switchover
first took place in metropolitan areas. In those areas, however, the RF
exposures in public places as well as at home continued to increase at
the same time. As a result, the continuing declining health status of
children, adolescents, and adults in urban areas could not be
attributed to any single cause.
On May 20, 2006, two digital broadcast television stations went on the
air in the Hessian Rhoenarea (Heidelstein, Kreuzberg), which until
recently had enjoyed rather low mobile phone radiation exposure levels.
Within a radius of more than 20
km, the following symptoms that occurred abruptly were reported:
constant headaches, pressure in the head, drowsiness, sleep problems,
inability
to think clearly, forgetfulness, nervous tensions, irritability,
tightness in the chest, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath,
depressive mood, total apathy, loss of empathy, burning skin, inner
burning, leg weakness, pain in the limbs, stabbing pain in various
organs, weight increase.
Birds had fled the area. Cats had turned phlegmatic and hardly ever
went into the garden. One child committed suicide; a second child tried
doing it.
Over time
the same unbearable symptoms showed up in other locations-most recently
in Bamberg and Aschaffenburg on November 25, 2008. Physicians
accompanied affected people to areas where there was no DVB-T reception
(valleys, behind mountain ranges) and witnessed how these people became
symptom-free only after a short period of time. (...)
In
Germany, DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial) uses Orthogonal
Frequency Division Multiplex Modulation. The fundamental principle of
this type of modulation works by spreading
the information across
several thousand carrier frequencies directly adjacent to each other. A
channel is 7.8 MHz wide. The amplitude also changes constantly. (...)
In
Germany, we see strong evidence of a direct temporal association
between the start-up of terrestrial digital broadcast television and
the occurrence of severe health symptoms. (...)
Satellites and
cable provide the US population with television services. By contrast,
the risk associated with terrestrial digital broadcast television
transmitters is unacceptable.
We, therefore, ask you, dear Mr.
President, who has the wellbeing of his citizens at heart, to stop the
scheduled introduction of this new technology in the United States of
America and to save the people from the negative health consequences
that have occurred in our country. (Signed by 3 German physicians www.scribd.com/doc/12548638/Warning-Against-Adverse-Health-Effects-From-the-Operation-of-Digital-Broadcast
